Focus is the Key

I looked at the number of posts I have done so far. Much to my surprise I found too little technology articles. Probably I am getting burned out that I do not feel writing anything about technology as my escape for relaxation.

I suddenly remembered what my former superior pounded on me and everyone else:

Focus, focus, focus…

My current superior Paolo recently e-mailed me that “Focus is the key to success” regarding the burn-out feeling the whole team is experiencing because of the tremendous workload upon us these days.

In the end, “Focus” is still a prerequisite no matter what.

Second is the Rank

I was watching a commercial for tennis open a few years back when it said

They were second to none.

An attitude I buried into my system.

Winner Take All

My father taught me that

There are no second placers only a bunch of losers.

Money and Time

When my friend Ryan and I were looking for a high paying job two years ago he told me that were only two things about time and money.

You either have time to spend but do not have the money to spend or you have the money to spend but do not have the time to spend it.

“That is not true”—I blurted out only to realize that for the last 3 weeks I was squeezing time to buy a digital camera but never had the time because of work schedule. Gosh, I don’t even have time to have a haircut. It’s just so pathetic.

Winning is An Attitude

Another advice given to me by Tito Celso when I feel I have lost:

Look at a glass of water filled at the middle as half full rather than half empty.

Make Do with What You Have

I always feel disappointed if I could not get things done because of outside forces.

Tito Celso, my best friend—Anton’s father advised me:

Work with the cards you have and not with the cards of other people for which you have no control of.

Destined to Rise

A friend once told me that times have changed and being successful at this time is nearly impossible compared to our forefather’s time when the competition is not as tough as today.

I answered him back with a quote from John Gokongwei—“one of the richest people in our country”

In any generation no matter how tough the competition, somebody is destined to rise above the rest.
